Junin located in the mid region of Peru. It is known for its ecosystem, high altitude and diverse culture. The fertile forest soil of Andes mountain is for growing coffee. From 1980s’ til 1991, this region was taken by a guerrilla group called Sendero Luminoso. Because of the war, lots of families fled to cities. Now that the situation is more stable, people returned and reestablished their main source of income - coffee. This is great news for the specialty community as the region got first place of COE Peru, they must be doing something right.
